Like all good things, the launch celebration has to come to an end. Once we have the store up our plan is to have a rotating set of 10 champions free at all time. Our goal is to give new players some great starting champions to play with, and to give players a chance to try out champions without having to unlock them. To meet our first goal (great starting champions), we’ve tried to create a list of champions that have a number of Melee, Ranged, Tank, Support and Mages in each grouping of ten.
Here is what we are thinking for our rotating champion schedule:

Q: How much do these overlap with the Collector's Pack? How much will these champions cost?
We can't announce the final pricing yet, but I can show you whether the champion will be priced as Heroic, Epic, or Legendary (with Heroic champions costing the fewest Influence Points or Riot Points to unlock).

We felt that some champions that were straightforward to play should be able to be unlocked early (we called them Heroic). There were also some champions that we felt were especially fun to play or required a lot of skill to use which require more Riot Points or Influence Points to unlock (these are Legendary champions).
Q: What about the TBD champions?
Well, we’re working on a few champions here at Riot Games, but we’re not ready to announce them yet. We also won’t release a champion that isn’t finished or could benefit with even more refinement. However, we would like to get new champions into the rotation once they are finished, so we’re saving a spot for them.
Q: This would be better if you swapped my favorite champion in and took out this other champion.
That’s not really a question - but if you do have suggestions on how to improve the rotation we can still make changes to the lineup. But please do suggest who you’d like to swap out in order to add another champion so other people can react to who would be missing as well. We’ll read this thread.
Q: When is week one?
At the moment we’re measuring reactions to the launch celebration and working on making a great store. Week one will be the first week with the store, and our aim is to announce the launch of the store soon.
