It's only that price if you include the $10 riot card you get for buying the collectors edition.

Okay, you're right on that. I had forgotten how long that game had been around. I've only played it since '07, so...

Lets see. 360 and ps3 games cost about 60 for a game. Which most people when they unlock everything, they stop playing. games that do last a bit longer on the 360, to make them worth while on multiplayer, you most likely need to buy the Downloadable contents which are usually 5-20 a pop for a few maps.

PC games in general: most have free downloadable content, free patches with the exception of MMO games. Most players that play MMO games pay about $15 a month to get to the highest lvl. You need to earn currency(sometimes multiple kinds of currency) or some people buy currency to get ahead of the game. Earning everything you want in an MMO game will take you over a year if you can only play 2 hours a day (assuming that 2 LoL games take and hour each)

The time it would take to earn multiple characters if you are playing for free is nothing compared to how much money and time speant playing console game and MMO games.

$45 dollars will save you a years time, then all you need to do is earn your runes and buy skins if you want skins. The way you choose to play LoL is up to you.

44.99 for all launch champions + $7.50 for each champion released after today (since there are 3x more legendary champions than heroic champions in launch, I'm assuming that most post launch champs will go straight to legendary).

It would probably be more cost effective to not buy runes and save IP for future Champions if you're getting the 45 buck bundle. 2 Champions a month would be around 10K IP or around that price.

I see a lot of QQ and not enough appreciation. THIS GAME IS FREE, you can unlock everything without paying a dime, the whining on these forums is epic and an embarrassment. I bought the collector's pack, I'll buy skins, and I will earn what I don't wish to pay for. This is an amazing game that is totally free, if you choose to play it that way.

I can't imagine how annoying it must be as developers to log onto the forums and watch people flame piss and moan, about something they go above and beyond for, 10pm-12 pm anyone? Lets appreciate the fantastic product they gave us and take it in stride, I can name a handful of games that weren't PERFECT at launch, But we will get there.

I'm not a fanboy, I'm a reasonable consumer, it's a great product. It's time the community starting acting like it.

I'm perfectly fine with this pricing structure, up until the following point : 6300 IP Legendary Champs. 3k takes long enough as it is to unlock, 30 wins not being something racked up in a day. This seems like a reasonable price ceiling, and would make unlocking everything on F2P hard, but not exceptionally prohibitive. This in itself would probably lead to a decent amount of buyers. However, the highest cost tier is pretty much ridiculous. With the entire cash structure being highly overcosted, assuming you buy only a portion of the game as opposed to the bulk of the heroes, you're left with no easy option when buying these heroes. Other then that, the IP pricing seems absolutely fine.

i could of not said it better myself.... i could not help but think the EXACT same thing as i was reading of the forums... happy as can be that they are not RUSHING out a **** product... THANK YOU RIOT for making the best FREE game i have ever seen

I'm sure if you can find the change in your car, you can afford an IP boost....but that's your prerogative.
