TFT EMEA Esports Update

The future of competitive TFT in EMEA

While Riot Sherman has already given you a lot of information about why we are changing, I would like to provide you with more details on our plans for TFT EMEA Esports aka Rising Legends. I am Riot Dreamflare, Product Lead for TFT Esports EMEA, Americas and TFT Set Championships Tactician’s Crowns.

As EMEA has already been supporting players from CIS, Turkey, EUW, and EUNE servers,  there will be fewer major structural changes to our competitive ecosystem in 2024. Inkborn Fables will come with some minor changes to our competitive rulebook, e.g. aligning the Cup Point System across Americas, APAC & EMEA. Also going forward, we will have at least seven slots to the Tactician's Crown with some new mechanics to qualify accordingly. We will drop more details on this once Inkborn Fables has been launched.

With Set 12, Rising Legends will say ‘Goodbye’ and we will adapt to the international naming convention with our Open Qualifiers becoming Tactician Trials and Golden Spatula Cups becoming Tactician's Cups. We will take this opportunity to also align the broadcast strategy across EMEA & Americas. We have seen that the vast majority of our watch audience is consuming our Esports content via their favourite Players and Content Creators. Starting with Set 12, we want to explore further how our tournaments can be a platform for Players and Content Creators to show-up even more and build up their own brand.

This also means that the Tactican’s Cups, which will qualify into the Golden Spatula will not feature an official traditional broadcast anymore, but rather experiment to put Co-Streams and PoV-Streams into the spotlight. For TFT EMEA Golden Spatula, our Riot-owned broadcast will be back, in addition to your favourite Community Streams.

Looking forward to playing with you in Inkborn Fables.
