TL;DW: Mayhem, Ranked 5s & More Dev Update

A short rundown of changes from today’s Dev Update.

Hey everyone, Pabro and Meddler here with a quick TL;DW of today’s Dev Update:

  • Locke is our next champion coming to League. He’s a high burst assassin IF you get your set up right, and will be out in Patch 26.13.
  • We’re currently working on our planned updates to ARAM: Mayhem for 2026 and are starting planning for 2027.
  • There’ll be a new update to Mayhem in Patch 26.12 that removes the Trait system, but preserves popular Traits in the form of new Augments.
  • We’re also adding a new type of Augment called Ability Augments, which will do things like allow Blitzcrank to hook multiple people at once.
  • You can learn more in a dev blog out now.
  • We’re testing a new system called ARAM Wardrobe in Brazil and Oceania: For 1350 RP, you’ll get access to most Epic tier and lower skins released before 2026 in ARAM and ARAM: Mayhem.
  • You’ll get access to time-limited skins in that category when they’re available in the Shop.

  • We’ll have Sinful Shores skins for Hwei, Brand, and a Prestige for LeBlanc in Patch 26.12.

  • After that, Akshan and Locke will be getting High Noon skins, and then Broken Covenant will return for MSI with skins for Aurora, Shen, and Jhin, who will be our MSI rev share skin.

  • In July, we’ll have the 2025 Worlds Winner skins and the Victorious skin this Season is for Rengar.
  • We’re experimenting with a new Ranked queue for full five-stacks: Ranked 5s.
  • It will run for a few weeks during windowed slots to ensure there’s a good pool of equally skilled teams queueing up at the same time.
  • You can learn more in the dev blog.
  • Starting this Act you’ll be able to report abusive communication in your DMs.
  • We’re adding a new system that will make it easier to track what you do and don’t have access to in-game—like Honor rewards, chat and queue restrictions, and some future features as well.
  • MSI will take place in Daejeon, South Korea at the Daejeon Convention Center II from June 28 through July 12.
  • Play-ins will go from June 28 to July 1, Brackets from July 3-6 and July 8-12, and Finals on July 12.
  • Tune into MSI Finals for a sneak peek at some of what we have coming for Season 3.
