TL;DW: Ranked, Shyvana & More Dev Update
Hey everyone, Pabro, Meddler, and Riot Memurr here with a quick TL;DW of today’s Dev Update:
Overall, we’re satisfied with the way the Season 1 gameplay changes have been landing after some adjustments.
We’re keeping an eye on Faelights, ADC, and top lane’s power levels moving forward.
Are there any items you’d like to see make a return outside of Hextech Gunblade and Stormrazor?
Time to get into game is down about 30% on average, with dodged lobbies dropping from 19% to 4%.
We’ve also made some adjustments to MMR distribution to address issues at the top and bottom of the Ranked ladder.
We want Iron to be a place for new players, not a home for long-term ones, so we moved those players out of Iron and into Bronze.
Similarly, the skill differential between players in Diamond IV and Diamond I was roughly the difference between Bronze IV and high Silver, so we moved the high end of Diamond into Master.
The MMR range for Master has been widened, which does make the LP requirement for Apex tier higher.
We’re looking into making more adjustments to the Ranked ladder in the future, including adding more divisions or tiers at the highest and lowest ranks.
Shyvana’s VGU will be live next patch.
We worked with her mains to preserve the things they love about her design and character, and make improvements where they wanted to see it.
All of Shyvana’s skins will be available, and she’ll have an exclusive Leg Day Bundle for a limited time.
ARAM: Mayhem’s run is being extended, with no end date in mind right now. But we’ll be sure to let you know!
There’s no new champion for Season 1, but we will have one for Season 2.
There will be some connection between Seasons 1 and 2, but no connection to Season 3 this year.
